    I've heard that.

I just got the carbs back on the bike today after replacing the throttle shaft seals, all the o-rings, gaskets and drain screws (two were stripped).

I'm sick of carbs for a while.

I would agree to stay with the stock filter. I am running a K&N and went up one size on the main jet (110 to 112) and stock pilot jets, I don't remember off hand what size those are. I think I'm a tad lean on the pilots as I do get just a small amount of popping from the exhaust under heavy compression braking. The only advantage I see is the K&N is reusable. Honestly I didn't see any performance increase.

If you want to re-jet then try the K&N but it's a slippery slope when trying to re-tune these things.

Or you can go with the "uni" that Chacal offers. It is cheaper than the oem. reusable, and Generally does NOT require any rejetting.

I too have the K and N oil coated stock style airbox filter, it was already fitted when I got the bike in 2009. If you're on about that one and not the pods, then you should be ok.

Running a K&N oiled, stock style filter on my Seca as well. Runs strong and I did not re-jet.

Now if I can just stop the oil leak.

I was talking about stock replacement, not pods. I'm not ready for that adventure......yet.

I think Fitz was referring to stock airbox with a K&N filter. Believe it or not, that link to Chacal's info *does* indicate carb changes even with the stock airbox and a K&N stock replacement filter.

I'm running that exact set-up (bike came that way) I cleaned and re-oiled it when I got it, haven't had to re-jet. I really really doubt the P.O. did either, but I guess it's possible. Anyway, I'll chime in on the "no problems" band wagon, as far as K&N stock airbox set up.

P.S. I read that site above about high-flow filters letting in more dirt, that Ross1 posted. If anything it seemed to say that K&N was the best of the high-performance filters, but yes, totally stock is the cleanest.
