okay guys my problem is similar. i pulled out my carbs the other day and i noticed after my clutch cable was dangling. i must have knocked it loose.

the haynes manula shows nothing on how to out it back together.

does anyone have any pictures of what the bottom and the adjuster parts are supposed to look like?

i would appreciatd a very easy step by step on how to hook the cable back up

    thanks

First of all, ... DON'T BEAT ON THE SHIFTER LEVER.
Shifting becomes difficult when there too much slack. When the Cable is Un-hooked or way too loose; the tendency is to take-it-out on the Shift Lever.

Why did the Cable become detached?
Is the Knarp still attached to the Cable?

At the Clutch Case end, ... the Cabke fits into a Box-like attachment with a slotted area for the Cable.
There should be a Retaining Tab to prevent the Knarp from escaping the Boxed-end attachment.

If the Tab is broken-off from the Boxed-end, ... the Knarp Barrel can come detached if there is slack in the Cable.

Use 3 Small Plastic Ties to secure the Barrel Knark within the Boxed-ended attachment.
Criss-cross 2 sm. ties under and over the Knarp and Cable end.
The third one binds the criss-crossed pair to the Cable so they don't slip off.
