    I've just bought a 2003 model and there is a mild popping from the exhaust at low revs..
    Could also be described as spitting back. Any thoughts?

    Also these bikes seem to have electrical wires going to the carbs? What are they for?

    The low speed backfiring is probably sue to the PAIR system which injects fresh intake air into the exhaust for emission reduction. It can be removed pretty easily. The wires to the carbs are the throttle position sensor system which alters ignition timing based on throttle position. Congrats on buying an excellent all-rounder. I love mine, and they can be turned into rip-snorting beasts with some minor bolt-on work.

    The wires you speak of are for the throttle position sensor. Enjoy your Bandit. I enjoyed mine. :)

    Go to the the website I listed above and look in the Suzuki section under Bandit 600/1200. In the Exhaust, Jetting and Tuning section there is a Racing PAIR system removal kit.

    I have ordered from Dale in the past and is very good to deal with. He only takes phone orders though, no internet.

    You'll also find lots of other cool stuff for your Bandit here. :)

    Which Bandit did you get? Here's a picture of my former 1200 with the Holeshot slip-on exhaust and stage 1 jetting. I also upgraded the seat to a Corbin. Like I said, you'll really enjoy your Bandit. Like the XJ's it has a bulletproof engine and can be service easily by the owner. Even the valves are easy (threaded adjusters). :)

    Mine's a 2003, a darker blue than yours I think. Didn't get very far on the Aussie SV site...enquiries continue...

    Actually I meant 600 or 1200. But after I posted I realized that there was no 600 Bandit after 2002, if I'm not mistaken.
