    Hey all,

Great day in Southern Ontario, Headed down to lake Erie with a CX500, CX650 and a Gixxer, however... On the way back (Port Dover --> Turkey Point) the group I was with came across a fresh bike wreck going North on Highway 24 :(. A guy sitting there looking dazed and a lady who i'll presume was his passenger, flat on her back in the middle of the intersection... Looks like he hit the left rear tire of the SUV, someone must've run a red light. BE SAFE PEOPLE, loud pipes didn't make a lick of difference here and I'm no advocate of the noise either.

BTW, saw a Turbo SECA heading south, looked to be in good shape. Anyone on here?

I'm in the grocery store parking lot today and two (crank ho's) ladies threw there POS into reverse and tried to run me and a mom&son over to yell at some guy they were pissed at, then shortly after a guy in giant white panel work van tried to shoot across six lanes and almost ran straight into me!

In the last week I have seen 5 drivers swerving in the middle of the day, only staying in their lane when oncoming traffic is near-can you guess what they were doing...yep texting!!! DAMMIT! Should be a felony. This will only get worse (with more and more becoming addicted to texting) unless we get serious about stopping them.

We also had another moto vs car death where the guy wasn't helmeted. That's five here in the last month.

Agree with the title of this post!! Wholeheartedly!

I agree, last thursday heading to work,a young girl pulled out right in front of me. I laid the down to avoid hitting her front end,Luckly I was in town ,doing 30 mph. I know now why some riders wear leather , even though it's 80-90 degrees out. I was being cool with a tank top. yep road rash on my left arm from my wrist to my elbow.my maxim surived with some minor scratches, thanks to my road pegs.took the weekend off to heal some. drained what oil was left in bike, cleaned out air box, plugs ,refilled with fresh oil. and she started up.back riding.took her to work today, and she ran well.I love my xj700 maxim. So treat every vehicle like its out get you.and ride safe.

MM, you are spot on with your prediction about texting......too bad too because we're the most exposed out there!

MW74, that's a rare sight to see a turbo since supposedly, there are less then 1000 of them running on the entire continent!!

I rode into work today but I leave my home at 4am so there's really no traffic....and I can avoid the nut easier....but the trip home is always an adventure.

There are so many close calls just waiting to happen that you have to keep your head on a swivel and constantly be looking around you and your bike. for Buck, as bad as his arm hurts and that he messed up his bike some, it could have been a lot worse if he hadn't seen the girl in time.

I curse everytime I gear up for a ride, heavy leather riding jacket, gloves, boots and full-f helmet.....but I've hit asphalt at speed before on the track and it hurts, a LOT. I've been pushing off buying riding pants, the special jeans since they run 100+ bucks but I may break down now and buy a pair.

Stay safe and keep your eyes peeled and don't forget to practice that braking!!

Hey mwhite74 did you run down Front Road on your ride from Dover to TP, Turkey Point, on the weekend? If you went though Normandale I was cutting the GRASS, then I was sitting in the driveway watching the bikes go by!

Update: Looks like the accident was on St John's road and norfolk street south, based on the fact i was that intersection for around 3 minutes or so (highlighted in Red).

Yep, by the looks of things i went up/down spooky hollow road and right on front road. That hairpin on fishers glen road is nice eh? It was fun running around with some other vintage bikes, those two CX's were pretty nice...

we would've been down there late morning, not exactly sure of the time, here's the path:

Yeah you definitely went past my place!! When you headed for Turkey Point my place was/is the second last house on the left, as you exit Normandale toward Turkey Point. If I'm in the garage killer is tied up in the driveway.
That St. Johns Road and Hwy. 24 intersection seems to be a bad spot for bikers!
