    this sounds ridiculous, I know, but how many quarts of oil does the xj900 hold?

    I believe the oil capacity is cast into the side of the crank case near the oil full hole. The Maxims are, anyway. It should say "2500cm3", or something similar. "cm3" is cubic centimeters, which are the same as milliliters. 1000 millimeters is 1 liter, and that's almost the same as 1 quart.
