taking apart my master cylinder

    so i got the master cylinder out and took the cable off and the res. off. forgive me for the following description but i got the rubber boot off of the end of the push rod and i dont see any mech. to return the plunggerback and forth. the rebuild kit has a spring and stuff in it but when i look inside the master cyl. al i see is a whole for the push rod to go into. is it frozen up or am i missing stuff?

    From what Im taking from your post, the old spring is missing?

    ok i figured it out. what i did was took a bolt a little but bigger than the plunger( the metal block in the MC and threaded it down into the whole where the pushrod goes in. once it bottomed out i turned it a little further and was able to spin the plunger out of the MC. thanks for all the help so far guys and here is a pic of the buke after i got it home.

    ok got everything back in tonite and have fluid in the res. now how do i bleed the master cylinder? I have tried pumping the handle and releasing the bleeder screw ive even taken the brake line off of the mc and tried to get fluid to come out. I know its not plugged up cuz cleaner came out of all the holes in it when it was apart. any ideas would be helpful. thanks guys

    A vacuum bleeder is just about the only way. You could fabricate one using some tubing and a large syringe.
