    Hey All...
I just bought my first bike:
A 1983 Seca 750...my father had a 900 when I was a kid and I fell in love, I recently just got back from Alaska and bought this bad girl for 800$ Cash!!!
She runs really well, idles fine, carbs look clean, Fuel Lines are good, Tires good.

The only Issue that she has is a clutch cable, and a Battery...the battery was from 2007..lol. I just wanting some feed back from you guys I have been lagging on making an account here but your forums and tech help is really helpful...

THanks for any ideas and suggestions...Pictures are soon to come...Ill give a chronigraphical layout of pictures...

there is another member with a gunmetal grey bike that I absolutely love.

Pod filters are generally a no but some members have had luck with them just do a forum search on pods to see the ongoing debate on getting them to work well on a XJ

I believe you're talking about Raven's bike - very sharp with round headlight, bar-mounted front MC and smaller gauges.

Going to pods - get ready for lengthy experimentation with carb jets. You definitely do not want to get it wrong.

Also need to check valve clearances, electrical connections (and fuses), charging system for proper operation, whole brake system (including rear shoe delamination), etc., etc.

actually was talking about yammadof's 650rjc but Raven's bike is a nice one but its not gunmetal grey unless he painted it again after his build thread ended.

WELL dammit, looks like Im going to have to get a stock airbox again cause the original one was broken and cracked all over the place...was worried about getting pieces of plastic in the carbs...are there any aftermarket setups to improve airflow? without resorting to that nasty stock airbox???
IDEAS PLEASE...PLUS!!! The bike looks a hell of a lot better with all that crap off of it...

P.S. The motocross bars are deffietly the way to go those ape hanger stock bars were the worse...plus I feel that more of a forward riding position (sport),
will prepare you for any major lane changes and manuvers you may have to accomplish when some idiot asian pulls out in front of me on the 57 Freeway here in LA...trust me Im no racist...but youll understand if you ever have to deal with them here in So cal.....very very dangerous drivers...

True, Raven's bike is silver - but I still think it's one of the cleanest 750 Seca customs here.

RE: air box replacement - look up what has been done with PVC pipe to construct a replacement air box that seems to work real well with the stock carbs.

might want to look into the velocity stack pods, people have been having luck with it.

Definitely one of the nicest 750 secas around, and it still looks like a seca body wise unlike a lot of the modified bikes.

Check out Denniskirk.com for mirrors, signals, brake lights etc.. I've gotten quite a bit of stuff from there for my bike and four wheelers over the years. been pretty happy with the place so far.

Vapor has some nice stuff. Also is that a stock tank? Looking for something else tank wise for my maxim x... I don't like the big tear drop tank

I dont have a 700 to check but im pretty sure the 750 seca tank wont fit with your stock seat for the same reasong it doesn't work on the 650/750 maxims. The Seca tank is raised in the back so the seat won't fit.

If those bars have got some sort of coating on them, maybe it's stopping the start button from grounding.

Read through this. Redemption explained it for me quite well and was even kind enough to post pics of his work. Doesn't seem to complex to me at all plus the vapor comes with pretty good instructions. As far as the wiring harness... Most of the sensors for the digital gauge come separate and just hook up to the gauge. He use the blue aux line in the headlight to power his.

Note the "Yellow" push button starter switch at the base end of the tank, its preety cool...I made a good thing out of a crappy situation trying to trouble shoot my starter switch and a grounding issue...went ahead and hard wired up this push button starter with an in-line 20A fuse...its nice...
