New member and new to motorcycles

    How are you guys doing, I'm a new XJ owner I traded a Camera for a 1982 xj550 maxim, I think I'll have to re wire the bike there is a lot of crappy cuts and tape everywhere and it doesn't turn over.... so hopefully I'll get this bad boy running soon

    all your lights work when you turn your key? check all your wiring like you said..... get it nice, and play with the fuses. for some reason 30 year old fuses dont like to make contact. thats the easy place to start before dipping into more complex. let us know what you need..... and welcome to the site

    the lights that come on are the neutral, and the turn signal but on the cluster not the actual turn lights, and I will hopefully that'll do the trick haha...thank you I will

    haha well my camera was worth about $500 nikon D200 I thought it was a good trade since all the xj's I saw not running were abouit the same but I think I got screwed so all that can be done is get it running and enjoy haha
