AARRRGGH! FLOAT VALVES!

    I just spent the last 8 hours trying to set the float height for new needles and float valves.

    The manual for my HSC33's say 1mm from the carb body: bull. Every time I got them close to 1mm they would start flooding. I had to set them at 2.5mm.

    I filled, checked, drained and adjusted the damn things at least 15 times.

    Positive. I think it has something to do with the aftermarket float valves and needles. I didn't have this problem with the stock ones.

    Try bending the tabs the other ways measure and start again slowly going back to where it needs to be set to. That worked for me and I put days into setting my floats with very similar issues. Everything was clean and polished but I couldn't get the same measurement twice.
