I would just like to take this opportunity to say that beerhound is not your typical Australian, he would be more your typical Queenslander.

C'mon mate, search for the part numbers and then compare them to see if they are the same as the US ones.

gday, this is my 81 650 special which i have found to be the same as the US maxim, many things from the seca dont fit them like cables, side covers etc, i have to get most parts from overseas as my local yam dealer hasnt even got the right micro fish and is dear as poison, typical cost for a tappet cover gasket here is $91 ,from the US i get them for around $25 each delivered in lots of 3.

    8) If you give me the part number I'll run it through a cross referenc program & can let you know what models fit.
    or
go through XJForever he has info on cross over parts.

The XJ4Ever catalog (listed in the for sale section) says:

So it should fit, but the style may look a little different.

You just use that site for the part numbers, you wouldn't actually buy anything from the stealership.

This (pictured) broken side cover is from a 900 anyway, it's not a "non-YICS," smooth side cover ( one cast piece).

Check Ebay-AU, and keep looking, meanwhile keep riding !!
