1981 xj650 maxim

    Hey guys, so i finally received the airbox boots for my bike. The thing is, they are all slanted a certain way. Could anybody help me out with this, maybe a picture if you have one. Thanks!

    They splay outwards slightly from center. Look at your intake boots, they do the same.

    Soon as you try to put them in, you'll see how they need to go...

    Ok Still haven't got this right... If I get it on the carb properly I can't get it on the airbox. And if I have in the airbox it slips off the bottom part of the carb where the boot goes on... In totally at a loss here

    Unscrew the air box mounts (one on the top in the center and one down low on the left side), push the air box forward as far as you can, and hold it there while you screw the mounts back down. My boots are barely long enough to stay on the carbs and the air box has to be pushed forward as far as it can go for the boots to reach.

    Yeah that's the problem, but I turned the clamp upside down and now only one boot slides off
