I purchased it at an upholstery shop. I can't remember what they called it but it was their densest, stiffest foam. It was called "re-something" if I remember I'll let you know.

I haven't forgotten about the blinkers, sorry. It's been crazy busy around here with the Olympic Trials.

New shims have arrived, hopefully that will level out the motor.
Also working on an aluminum all LED taillight, should be done soon.
    Pics to come!

Little update.. got the new taillight done. It's a little rough but doesn't look to bad. It was too bright so we had to put more resistors in it. Blinkers are integrated into the light as well. I also think I might go back to the stock mufflers, even though they are a bit beat up. Graphic picture at the bottom!

Tank all stripped and me trying to decide if I want to just clearcoat over the bare metal.

The new tank color and waiting for clear this week. I'm a little beat up right now though.

I LOVE that tail light. I wanted to do something similar to that and ditch the whole rear fender. Looks awesome. Heal fast and get back to riding!

Looking fantastic and can't wait to see this continuing to evolve. A lot of the things you're doing are in line with what I want to eventually do to my 650. I would say keep the stock pipes. Cafe bikes deserve a classic look. :)

Couple of questions. Did you do the upholstering? If so did you follow a guide? Also, where did you get the brown grips? I've only been able to find tan colored semi-translucent ones in that style.

Heal up and keep up the good work.

They sounds pretty good actually, maybe I'll take a short video of them before I swap back. I'm located in OR unfortunately. If anyone is interested in buying them though.... they would slip right on and I would include the brackets to attach them to the old exhaust mounting points.

Clear coating the tank today, I'm finally moving around freely. Very exciting :)

Finished the tank and swapped the old exhaust back on, it looks more appropriate. I also don't have the seat bolted down, it sits flush

Looks better with the strip on the bottom of the tank too

    Sorry for the hiatus!
Bike has been sitting since September after my accident until today when I started replacing the clutch. No notable cosmetic changes recently and nothing really planned. I'm content with how it looks at the moment.

Now it's just on to the little issues again. Hard to care when it's so cold outside!

    Thanks for the compliments

Man do I like that seat, about the only thing I can say is she sure looks nice with the seat. Also, I like the way you left the rear suspention (shocks), looks like it was built that way in the first place. Keep up the good work, you may one day have to go full time into doing this :)))) grunt007, 81'750XJ Seca, Mi.

I was just thinking, no inner fender?
I do like the front fender, original and then cut down to size?

    The seat do look comfy!

Yes, the seat pan in the rear works as a fender and the plastic original one I just cut it down to fit snug up against the new seat pan. It's been working quite well although I don't usually ride it much in the rain, which is hard to avoid in Oregon.

    Thanks for the positive feedback
