For some reason, my handlebar electronics are acting up. My blinker doesn't consistently blink, and my speedo and tach lights turn off. If I tap the start button, the problem resolves itself. Any ideas what could be the cause?

The first thing I would check would be the fuse box. When I first got mine I had all kinds of crazy electronic system issues like that. It turns out the metal pieces which hold the fuses in have a tendency to corrode. Mine literally fell apart when removing the fuses.

The fuses were replaced by the PO to inline fuses. While studying the wiring diagram, I found that when the start button is in the resting position it completes the circuit for the headlight speedo and tach backlights. I'm going to take it apart hopefully Find a rough connection

Yep, a little grease, or dust (something black and nasty) was covering the connections. Cleaned with a rag and problem went away

Go grab a $5 tube of dielectric (or spark plug) grease and apply it those (and all) connections and that specific problem should not reoccur :)
