    I was riding down the road when it cuts off and then I have NOTHING. no headlight, tail light, ignition, tried to bump start it twice down a hill and nothing. Not one indicator light on the cluster. I just changed the battery over the weekend for a brand new one and went out for a long ride. Today was a different story. I've tried to follow all wires around since I've had electrical problems in the past, but couldn't find anything. I checked fuses as well. I understand a bit about how the bike works, but if its a blown relay or circuit somewhere I'm left clueless.

    Day 2 now, I've removed the gas tank and followed all wires everywhere and seen no shorts. My battery is still good, plus I've tried hooking up my booster charger to it and still no power. Tested power on both sides of the fuse terminals and still power. What could be causing a outage like this?

    Any thoughts?

    I've been looking online, and what does a rectifier do? My take on it is that it regulates voltage or something right? Could switching the battery for a motomaster (Canadian tire brand) cause it to not function? It says 12A-A replaces 12N12A-4A-1 on my new battery

    The regulator/rectifier converts the A/C from the alternator to DC 12 volts for the bike to use.Most likley not your problem.
    Onto your original problem;
    Check the main fuse, it is not part of the fuse box unless you have reworked it.
    The + battery cable goes to the starter solenoid terminal and joins the + wire to the main fuse then to the rest of the bike. Check those connections and the fuse.There are several plug connections that connect the main fuse holder in there, They can also get coroded.
    If they check out then go to the ignition switch and test it.

    All the power to run things goes through the ignition switch. look inside the headlight for a bad connection.
