I was wondering if some one can let me know how I would go about installing drag bars with a 6" riser on my XJ750 Maxim? I know how to install drag bars and other handle bars that don't have risers but I am clueless on how you would install handle bars that have risers on them.

Also any suggestions on a good exhaust pipe to install that is loud enough to hear while cruising on the highway yet still has a deep rumble to it?

If anyone can help me out here send me an email, panzertom@live.com

    Cheers

which maxim are you starting with 2 piece or one piece handle bars? the 2 piece may make it so you have to add a mount off of something like the 750 seca for the bars to mount to. What bars are you working with? some mount through the triple tree and others mount to the existing mount points.

as far as exhaust I can't help you as I am all for quiet exhaust. I don't necessarily want to hear it and the only other people that will hear it (unless you go to completely obnoxious levels) are people on the side of the road or when your sitting somewhere, and I don't care if they hear it or not either.

I had a Kerker 4-1 system on an old GS750 that just sounded wonderful...would sound great on the XJ750 too I'm sure.

With the baffle out it sounded like a drag bike. With it in, it changed the sound to a lower note and had a nice beefy tone to t.

It came with it, I think it was a pretty high-buck system though.

Think staintune make one suitable. They have a removable baffle too.

if you have the 2 piece bars, take the spline shafts off of the triple and use the holes to mount your risers.
it's hard to get a deep sound out of a high reving 4

Dave, don't do this to me. Normally I'd tell you to take yours off and look, but since your new I'll refrain.
Your going to find a 8 mm hole for a thru bolt and a threaded 6mm hole.
I used seca risers with 3/4 inch spacers, I know people have used tall risers but not what kind
