The original lamps were 27 watts, if you changed the bulbs to anything other than these , they will not flash. You can however use an electronic flasher but to will loose the auto canel function.

first off are the original flashers on it. The stock flasher needs the full draw of the stock bulbs to flash. After that I would guess flasher.

I had this problem, the 2 pin flasher is dodgy! I managed to fit a CF13 3 pin to my xj750. Brown is + and connects to B+ pin, the Brown/White is your BULB side which connects to L pin. Lastly, you need to connect E- to the frame or and earth wire. You can leave the Yellow/Green wire, which is your auto off trigger.

not sure this is my problem but my right flasher works, horn, headlight, highbeam, break light (front and rear) everything BUT my left flashers?!?! how would i narrow down the problem for this? the fuses are good and the bulbs work.

Alex: your symptoms would mean the problem is from the left side of the switch on to the bulbs. first guess it that the contact is corroded if not maybe a bad socket, but if you tested the bulbs you should have seen a corroded socket. past that follow the wires.
