    Hi,

I am working on a friends '82 Maxim carburetors. I wanted to know the correct position of the pilot and main air screws located under the diaphragm. I took a photo before I started cleaning the carbs, but it looks like someone else has worked on these before and I wanted to be sure they are in the correct position. In the photo, it looks like the main air screw is toward the front and the pilot is more in the middle. Let me know if this looks correct. Thanks!

The main (should be a #80 if stock) should be in the middle and the pilot (should be a #225 if stock) should be at the front. There is a third threaded hole toward the back for the half moon shaped shield that may or may not be present depending on the bike. The haynes shows the jets reversed so it is common for people to put them together wrong.

Thanks. I tried to post a picture, but couldn't get it to work. Looks like they are correct though (I thought the main would be the larger and pilot the smaller size).
