Just wondered if anyone was familiar with the oil capacity and air psi on a 86-88 FZ 600.

I wish I had the answer. I thought I found the right ammount just to find out it was way to much even with the spring out. I ended up with a random ammount and left it at that. I put about 4psi in them. Feels ok but I will redo it when I can get more data. Do you have an FZ600? I have the FZ motor,FJ carbs on my Seca. Still dicking with the jetting, K&N pods you know. I wish I had the Velo-Pod set up. Where can I get some adatpters?

I just looked on Caferacer.net and Kenessex wrote, set the fork oil level at 7 in from the top of the fork tube with the springs out and the front end collapsed. That way I don't have to worry about the exact volume or getting all the old oil out. I just pour in too much oil, stroke the forks a couple of times to get all the air out, then I just put a 7 inch hose on a big syringe and sucked out the excess.

    Thanks Ken, again.

Cool, thanks for the info. I put a fz600 front end on my maxim. Got it from ebay so just wanted to go throught them with seals etc.

I found some info googling today. Said to put 480ml, or 1 pint, each. And run 10 psi. Seems like a lot, but I don't really know.

Not sure about adapters for the pods, the best inventions are from necessity.

Yeah I wondered. I don't have a syringe, guess I will just fill it up, and do some calculated tipping out of fluid. Hard to find free information. My local Yamah dealer told me they didn't become a dealer until 1992, and don't have any resources for that old of bike.

315cc of 10w. This is from the Haynes manual. There is a level reading but you fully compress the fork with the springs out!!!

One of my pm's on the way

Use the FZ lower clamp and find a Radian top clamp, with handle bar mounts.

I haven't ridden it yet, I just slid them out the fz clamps, and slid into the xj trees wheel and everything just lines up perfect, easy.
