About 200 miles after a thorough cleaning and reset of the carbs, my nephew's FJ600 wouldn't idle and was dying under throttle.

We had also cleaned and resealed the tank prior to putting it back together. Admittedly we should have replaced the fuel line right then, but impatience got the better of both of us.

So we tore the carbs off again and found that the screens were covered with all kinds of GUNK! Looks like could be anything from fuel buildup, to rubber bits and who knows what all else.

    My question is this...

Besides replacing the fuel line, what else should we be checking before we run this thing again. What else might I be missing? I don't want to have to do this every couple hundred miles.

I've heard people here mention installing an inline fuel filter, but what kind?

any suggestions on the topic would be helpful

    Thanks

    M

Go to any store that carrys lawn mower parts and pick up a small inline filter. You can usualy get the clear fuel lines there too. (O'Rileys, Home Depot, most auto parts stores) Be sure to pull your petcock and clean the in-tank screen.

    Thanks!

Pulling the petcock should also tell me if the liner didn't set right
