My main headlight beam cut out Sunday. High beam works. Bought a new bulb today,no change.
Last week I took the factory fairing off (9 pin connector) so yesterday checked the wiring.2 of the wires were acutely bent with bare wire exposed, cleaned them up and resoldered. But (I don't think)the 3 headlight wires go through the connector, just happened to notice the insulation was worn away.
3 weeks ago, while riding home in a deluge, the bulb got wet and blew up. After replacing the bulb, sprayed the switches in the grips with contact cleaner.
    No problems until Sunday.
Today, swapped all the 10A fuses, tried wiggling the wires at the upgraded fuse box. No change.Sprayed the High- low switch with contact cleaner,no change.
Any suggestions? Electrical is absolutely my weak area.

    Hi Ross,

Grab yourself a multimeter and check the continuity from the beginning of the circuit out to the socket.

    Use these to guide you!

    Wiring Diagram.

Only way to find a fault, if there is no power up there.

You can also check each connector as you may have a corroded away wire within the harness.
Pull on each wire and if it is stretchie then you know that the copper is not connected to the plug and you are just stretching the insulation.

Old harness + water = lots of little problems.

Thank you. The problem proved to be in the 9-pin connector. Fussed with it and now have a back-up bulb.(Not a bad thing.)
