Hi everyone. I'm new to these bikes and I have a question. I have lost all my turnsignals. sometones I get a light to come on. all my bulbs are correct I have cleaned out the signal relay. During my investigation I found a broken wire that conntects to a switch right below the clutch cable any ideas what it is for? It seems to connect into the right side turn signal. My computer is down so I cannot. post a pic. the connected is located in the headlight rats nest and is green. Help appreciated!!! BTW I have ordered a manual I just want to ride this bike so bad.

Is this the switch you're looking at?

This is the clutch switch, which is part of the safety relay on the XJ. It is connected to the wiring harnes via a green wire with, IIRC, a yellow stripe.

It lets you start the bike in gear, with the clutch pulled in.

It has nothing to do with turn signals.

Be careful you're actually looking at green with yellow stripe. The one turn signal wire colour is green as well. don't get them mixed up :)
