I do not care about the lock or the factory look. Any suggestions on a compatible cap? Is there just some generic cap I can put on there? Sorry if this is a stupid simple problem. Please include links if you have suggestions. Thanks

Try a cork! or a bath tub plug! All seriousness aside, there are no generics out there. The gas cap was designed that way so if you crash you wouldn't tear your balls off as you slid up the tank. Just live with it.

If you don't want to use a key just remove the tumblers from the lock so any thing will turn it

Pretty tough to find any type of vented gas cap to fit a tank like what we have. If a guy were into fabricating you could cut the tank and graft a screw type cap and part of a older bikes tank onto a maxim tank. At the end of the day that's a lot of work.

Yeah, I dont really know what options are out there in general. I mainly just dont like having to use the key. Guess I will just have to deal with it.

The bar end weight seems like a good idea (and it looks good), but that means you are also leaving the ignition key on the bike. Most joyriders are dumb, but a smart thief will check to see what a weight is doing on a gas cap. Removing the tumblers and fitting a blank key (and suitable fancy handle) would do the job. But then...hey, free gas :D
