I've been blowing my turn signal fuse like its goin outta style. I finally looked at a wiring diagram and noticed:
One: my turn signals are aftermarket
    Two: they are not grounded.

I'm guessing this is why I'm blowing my fuse as soon as I try to ride. I'm just not sure how to ground them.

Should I just pigtail off of the stud on the back? Or do I have to connect to the metal part inside the assembly?

Well if thats a metal bracket you should just have to clean the paint off under the nut/washer to make a good ground.

you can test the ground by checking for continuity from the stud on the signal to the triple tree. If there is nothing check to the bare spots on the bracket. That will show if you need to adjust the contact points anywhere to get ground

A questonable ground in a signal light won't consistantly blow fuses. You have problems elsewhere.
If the light works then it is grounded, your lights are trailer marker lights. They ground through the mounting bolt to the metal bracket. I use lights similar to those on my trailers and do have problems with grounding. I always run a seperate groung wire to all the lights, it just prevents problems in the future.
If you are having problems keeping that light burning then a new ground wire will help but I don't think it will solve your fuse problem. Look for pinched or bare wires in the signal circuit.

Ok. What else is on the signal circuit? I know the neutral light and the tachometer. Any thing else?

Brake light also. I believe. Sounds like a short to me. You might try changing your flasher to a EL13 style they cost about 12 bucks. and disconnect the self cancel unit. I had horrible issues. when I removed the self canceler it solved all my problems. You can't use the canceler with the EL13 flasher. but you can run any wattage bulbs in your signals with no problems at all. You do have to switch wires around in the flasher plug. look at the sticky in this forum. There is an explanation on there.

Bhartman, Ive already switched out the flasher. But I think I may have left the canceller in.

Turn out my tail lamp was shorting against my frame. I just taped it up and went for my first ride.
