Before I commit a date to the Calgary Carb clinic, I want to gauge
    interest for the area.

It would be from June 21-22. June 21 is the work day, and June 22 is
    the Ride Day.

    What we're working on:
    - Carb cleaning and sync
    - I have Colortune & Carb TuneII + Yics Tool
    - Fork oil changes & seals
    - Spin-on adaptor (i have one to demonstrate)

Location: 99 Bermuda Close NW, Calgary, Alberta

If you are interested, please reply to me at forkmiester@gmail.com. :)

I want to run this if we get at least 10 guys. You'll need a few
dollars for beer/pop/hotdogs for lunch plus around $20 for our drive
to a location for supper (Boston Pizza - it's real close).

RSVP nlt May 18 - it's the go-no do date.

I re-wired my fuse box last Sat. Battery and licence plate will be installed this coming week. I sure hope the carb clinic is a GO. I need a good reason to go for a long ride.

I used to live in Lake Louise, is that good enough? :p

I'm in BC now and would be interested in riding to the clinic if it happened a bit later in the summer. :)

WooHoo! I'm in Calgary. If I can get my bike running I would love to get to a carb clinic and a ride. Sadly, I don't expect to get it running this month. I'm taking a week off work in early September. Hopefully I will be able get it running that week.

I'm in wetaskiwin. I just picked up an 82 xj1100 maxim that the PO thought was seized. Turns out it was just a small screw that somehow got on top of the piston in cylinder #1.

I'm close enough to qualify as 'Edmontonian'! Just got an 81 550 Maxim as a first bike. A friend owed me some cash and gave me the bike instead. The price was right! My mechanic friend finally got it ready to roll, so tomorrow is the official first ride! Just in time for winter! It's supposed to be gorgeous weather tomorrow (17 deg C or 65-ish F). Can hardly wait!

Just noticed this thread. I'm in Brooks. I would be interested in any Clinics in Calgary area, or maybe a ride into Glacier Park come spring time. I suppose I better clear that with the wife. She's due for our first young'n in July.

There is a lot of luv for the Secas here in Edmonton! Was out today and, as usual, someone at a stoplight asks "What year?" then launched into reminiscences of his Seca 900. I don't get this much attention in my classic car!

Japanese I guess? We should all learn...
Mine are learning Welsh, maybe soon the maxim will be fluent, the seca will be a while, the turbo, years...

Hey all, just got an old 1981 XJ 550 running recently. Any dealers in Calgary you'd recommend to get the wheels changed and give it a once over? Is Blackfoot Motorsports the be all that it makes itself out to be?

Once I get new tires and get the bike checked over I'd love to go for a ride.

Don't take a bike to Blackfoot, at least not if you didn't buy it there. They always prioritize work on bikes they sold, and being a busy shop this can be a problem. A coworker brought his 2013 SV650 in there after its ignition switch was damaged in an attempted theft.

It took 4 months to get fixed, with a constant line of excuses. 4 months. For an ignition switch.

I don't have experience with them personally, but I'd assume the Old Motorcycle Shop in often would be your best bet, as their most experienced with... Well.. old motorcycles.

That said, if you're just getting a tire changed. Anywhere will be fine if they say they'll do it right away vs your bike sitting around.

I have a local auto repair shop that is owned by a neighbor and he lets me use his tire machine. A bottle of white wine every month or so for his wife seems to do the trick.
