    Hey folks,
I'm considering selling my 83 750 maxim, and was curious what ya'll thought it might be worth. here are the specs:

    1983 750 Maxim
mileage: 37619 (put 100mi on last summer, not much riding time)
new tires last spring when I bought it
    new battery last spring
new paint, had tank blasted and redone professionally
    new front fender
    new handlebars, grips, mirrors, headlamp
    new turn signals
also have a windshield to go with it.

    Photo 1, side
    Photo 2, front

reason I'm thinking of selling it is that I recently purchased some land, and would like to have an atv for working out there, while I work on improving the land. Thanks for your feedback.

I just reviewed NADA prices. The earliest they cite is 1986

    Maxim 700: low $535, Ave $700
    Maxim 700X: low, 635, Ave $835

I don't remember the difference and these are 3 years newer than the 1983.

I have a mint 650 Seca in original, unmolested condition.

Unfortunately, these bikes have virtually no value. Perhaps in 25 years they might.

    Just my $.02

They are in there - you just have go to their antique motorcycle listings for bikes 1985 and older.

As mr_ex said, you have to take the listed values with a grain of salt. In your particular case, though, they may be close.

Hmmm, 2K might be just a tiny bit strong.

Do you wear straw, 'cause beaver pelt is real tough to chew.

$2k allows for the inevitable "talking down" process, and who knows, someone might fall in love. Used bike prices tend to be pretty robust here, so my opinions might be skewed somewhat.

It's worth exactly $150, delivered, to Livonia Michigan. :D

Kelly Blue Book lists dealer price at $1135, trade in value of $700.

I'd guess 900-1100. If the bike is mechanically sound, has good rubber etc. may be a hundred or two more.

    I disagree.

You can't sell a bike if people don't come and look at it.

I buy and sell a lot of bikes, and have found that a ridiculously high asking price keeps a lot of serious buyers from calling.

It's like when a used car salesman tells you a price $2,000 to high. You just say to yourself "F**k him", and leave.

    thanks for the feedback all,

If I decide to sell, I'm really just looking to get what I put into it...which I think I could because this thing looked like crap when I got it :) runs well, starts easily and once warmed up, she cruises quite well.
