I have a 82 maxim 650 that started fine until i changed the handle bars and now when i turn the key and push the start button it just clicks and you can feel it in the relays. Ive pulled off the starter and tested it on my truck battery and the motorcycle battery is new and fully charged. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Sounds like a wire connection in the headlamp bucket came loose. Pull the headlamp off of the mount and check all your connections.

Could be your starter relay switch. Its a little box on the right side of the bike. Give it a few taps and try again.

Yeah I was gonna say that the handlebar swap has likely compromised the ground connection between the RH switch pod and the bar, or between the bar and the frame.

It obviously has some continuity, or it wouldn't go "click" but it sounds like it's not grounding well enough to carry any load.

Either that or you pulled something loose in the headlight bucket.
