    Hi Folks
Just working at balancing the carbs on my '82 Seca and notice that there is an "O" ring for the pilot screw on the schematic and wondering whether this should be changed on all carbs. as this could theoretically effect the idle settings?
    Any thoughts? :?

Those should be replaced on all 4 carbs. They can indeed affect idle mixture settings.

Quite often, you'll find their little washer missing and the o-ring shredded; or if the washer is still there the o-ring will be flat and rock-hard.

Thanks Fitz, do know of any way of removing them when carbs are in situ. I managed to get No 1 out but am struggling with the others as they're probably binding on the perished seals :?

I used s paper clip. Straighten it out then put a small 90 degree bend at one end trimmed it with wire cutters so the the bent end would fit down inside the screw hole. Reached it and pulled the washers out.... Worked like a charm.

Thanks for that but it's getting the actual screw out of the carb body to access the O ring that's getting a bit of a PITA :?

 Unscrew the pilot screw fully 'out' of the threads, and then put the end of a magnet pick-up tool on the top.....screw, spring, and washer should all come off together as one (be careful, they are very small!), leaving the 'o' ring last to be detracted from the bottom of the pilot screw jet orifice. :)
