Hello everybody, I just purchased an 82 Maxim 650 only to find out the engine was cooked. I have a plethora of parts, all of them in quite nice condition. I need this bike out of my garage and if the parts do not sell within the next few months I'm taking whats left to the wrecker. If you are interested in anything send me an email. All reasonable offers will be accepted. I do live in Canada so shipping may hurt, but I will keep everything cheap. My email address is spartan-117@shaw.ca
Also, I have a complete gasket set for the bike (brand new) and a haynes manual.

Not bad shape, why don't you look for a used motor?

    CB,

What ^ said. I'd hate to see this one go to the wrecker. How do you know the engine is cooked? Do you have compression at any cylinders? How many miles are on the speedo? Might just need Top-End Re-build. I see you have the change pedal resting on top of the starter motor. Is it not shifting in gears? Might need clutch re-build.

Sent you a personal message. Where in Canada are you? How much for the seat?

To answer the questions: this picture was taken before I tore it down. I found out the engine was cooked when I found handfuls of metal inside the cylinders 8O I'm not looking to invest that heavily into the bike. It's a shame for sure, cause there were only 40,000 km on the bike.

    CB,

Oh....in that case other than swapping engines I'd part it out. There are a lot of 650 owners here that might purchase some of those parts.

Gary, I believe that is why he said that's what he's doing, and whatever doesn't sell after a period of time is going to go to the scrap yard.
