    Hi guys,

I've just finished the carb rebuild (again...don't ask).
The question is, after bench sync & reinstall, the engine fired up ok...bit rought though.
Do I colour tune first, then running sync or vice versa?
I guess I will have to do both a couple of times, but what is best to do first?

    Cheers,

    Tim.

colourtune first then sync and do it again from my experience but I am no wizard.

Nope. Set all of your pilot mixtures at 2 1/2 turns out; then fire it up and do the vac sync.

    THEN ColorTune. Which will probably screw up the sync;

so you go back and touch it up.

Thanks for your input adbrewer, but I think I'll take the advice of Bigfitz (I'm sure you would do the same thing!).
I had a short ride down the road yesterday arvo & it pulled like a train once the revs came up, so I think I'm not too far out.
Once the revs are up, it sounds good, but at idle it's a bit rough.

Do I do the vac sync at about 1000 - 1100 rpm?

    Cheers,

    Tim

    Yes, 750 idle Rpm is 1050 +/- 50

You want to sync, then colortune, at idle rpm

Just want to add - that your FINAL setting is based on plug color and seat-O-th-pants feel, like good acceleration without bogging after waiting for a light.

These things take TIME - and I'd go with Fitz's advise too !
