aftermarket forward controls?

    hey guys is there any company that makes aftermarket forward controls for a 82 xj550 i know that tc makes universal but didnt know if anyone knows where i can get ones that arent universal, or even have pictures of the universals on the xj550?

    I believe the only one that makes forward controls specifically for your bike will be you. LOL Universal from TCbros or make them yourself are your only options as far as I know. Good luck.

    Im in the same boat as you bro. I want to build a set this winter. Luckely Im a teacher that has access to the school shop after school ours ;) Anyone have any close ups of how you would mount these bad boys? I am seriously thinking of making them this winter.

    This is the best how-to I have seen here. Johno8's Foward controls If you can get hold of johno8, he has a file he can send you as a template. This is the basic pattern I used for my forward controls, I changed the shape slightly but kept everything else the same.

    p.s. After reading the last post in johno8's thread I see it will be useless to contact johno8. I uploaded a copy of his file to my skydrive, you can get the jpg from here Right click on the pic and choose 'download'

    I just used the set of an xs1100 gauges pretty easy to rewire looks alot cleaner than the stock setup http://www.flickr.com/photos/danceswith ... 582665592/ not mine but same setup also uses the same tripple tree mounts as the seca so its a direct bolt on.

    ps if you wana make it look even cleaner you can mount it to the bottom of the tripple tree to lower it about an inch. hope this helps
