Are the intake joints that hold the carb to the motor the same between a seca 550 and 750? If not are 650 joints the same?

    Thanks!

No. 550 and 750 use radically different carburetors of different sizes.

650 ones might be similar to the 750, since both use Hitachi carbs.

IIRC the 650 maxim and the 750 maxim use the same carbs....the jetting is different, not sure if it's the same carb bodies for the seca's though...............

650/750 carb bodies are the same hitachi 32's. For both seca, and maxim. The jets are different between the 650's & 750's

Well I guess that answers my question alright. Looks like I have to find a set of joints for a 650 or 750. Anyone know of a place that doesn't charge $50+ for each one?

I think the 81-82 carb intake boots(carb to head) for the 650/750 are different from the 83 models. I have a set of 4 boots for the 83 650/750 if your interested.

It would help to know which bike he is working on. There are differences between the YICs, and non-YICS engines.

BTW non-YICS = 80-81 650 Maxim, Midnight Maxim. maybe others.

As long as it's for sure an '83 and therefore a YICS motor.

    Maxims: 650, '80~'81: non-YICS.
    Maxims, 650, '82~'83: YICS.
    Maxims, 750, '81~83: YICS
    Seca 650 ('82 only in US) non-YICS.
    Seca 750: '81~'83: YICS
    550s, '81~83: YICS
