I know there is a large concentration of our members in the Northeast and Sandy is on the way :!: My hopes and prayers go out to all in the path of this monster.

I live outside baltimore. It's raining and a bit windy as of this post. Nothing major just yet that I have seen. I went to work this morning as my office doesn't close. Drive home should be fun but I get off at 2.

Are you really going to make this a religious argument? :?

Not the point of the thread.

Prayer is a powerful thing, as is caring about others whom you've never met.

Have i met everyone who will be affected by the hurricane? no.

Do i care about them and hope that they will be okay? yes.

My thoughts and prayers go out to all who will be affected.

Yeah the river behind the house is super high and Atlantic City is flooded to shit. The Ben Franklin is shut down so I can't go to work until Wednesday...so looks like Gin Rickeys and Big Cheez-It's until this wind is over. Other than that luckily I'm far enough from the river behind my house and the beaches to not have to worry about the flooding. Plenty of booze and snacks here if anyone is willing to kayak it here.

power has flashed off and on here a few times. only worry is all heating capabilities here are electronically controlled and the fish tank definitely won't be happy if it gets too cold.

Hope everyone else came out of the storm OK. I went last night to check on the bike which I keep in a garage down by the water. High and dry and all is good. We never even lost power.

My power was out at home from 6:00am Tuesday morning until last evening; and my roof leaked a bit during the worst of it.

    I'm considering myself lucky.

I guess the tarp on the side of the house worked, not a drop got in. That was a big relief after getting thoroughly soaked INSIDE the house during Irene last summer. Now it's time to clean up and take the tarp down.

I think I'm gonna keep that one in a separate bag.......my new "Hurricane Kit". LOL
