Well just thought I would introduce myself. Im located in Chesapeake, VA. Im not new to the two wheel game but new to xjs. Got this 82 650 maxim. When I first got it most of the parts were in boxes and it was completely stock, but she is on the road now. Seems like a good site with endless amounts of info. It does have a headlight now just for some reason didnt take a pic after I installed it. Plan on tearing it down to clean up the frame but I was too eager to get it on the road. Maybe a winter project. Thanks

Thanks guys. The tail light I got from a local bike gear store called Cycle Gear. It was with all the crotch rocket led accesories. $40. Not sure of the brand but they do have a website. the rear fender is the stock one. I cut the heads off two bolts and welded them on the inside of the frame on the back side of where the upper shock mounts are. then slotted the factory holes of the fender. Then ran one bolt at the front of the fender to the cross-bar at the back of the seat. Its solid. I did weld a plate on the inside of the fender for the light to mount. Still need to pull it back off and fill in all the holes from the factory tail light assembly.

As far as the bars Im not sure. they were in one of the boxes I got with the bike. Nothing fancy. I will go through some pics and see if I have a close up. If not I will get one as soon as I can. I planned on drag bars but didnt have any 7/8 tubing laying around. Now that the clamp on ones are on there I kinda like how low they are. I originally had them on top of the tree but didnt like the look. So I put them under it instead. It raised the front back up and lowered the bars. Feels real good to me. Plus you can adjust the angle to keep them off the tank. Exspecially since its not a yamaha tank. With my hands on the grips they are about a 1/4 in off the tank fully turned. When I first installed them some of my guys didnt care for them. My question was "have you ever seen them, and see them installed in this way". Their answer was "no". My reply was "perfect".
