I think you should be worrying about dangerous thirty year old brakes, neglected valve clearances, the age of the tires, your chain and sprockets and a whole long list of maintenance to get caught up on before you think about cosmetics.

I have had the bike for a month now and have read those and the church of clean like 100 times I about have them memorized then I thought I should join so I can post stuff there is all kinds of info on here and most seems to be helpful I've had the valves breaks chain and sprocket and carb clean and engine sync planned since I found the site I am nervous about carbs though paint on frame and engine is turning out pretty good considering its spray can wish I could post pics I have about 100 that I've taken along the way. I have decided to go with burnt orange metallic bigger fender on rear and paint match both gloss black frame and polished fins and covers I have a guy that is polishing genious and cheap like 10-15 bucks apiece that's all I have planned leaving everything else stock love the look of bike just not the chipped up paint and filthy engine iv scrubbed for 6 hours and still looks like poo so tonight I just decided paint it and it turned out pretty good o also thinking about painting exhaust as well

Well, check the math yourself. Yamaha issued their specs in metric, so if it really was .004, that won't really work.

Can't hurt, anyways. At best, you're right on the line anyways.
