    Some rig a small tank.

I used about 4 feet of fuel hose and just set the tank on the workbench.

I do the same as Carl. 4' of hose and all.

If you dont have gages or mercury sticks I wouldn't advise you to screw around with the sync screws. If you dont and you do, your troubles will have only just begun.

Then you will have to pull the carbs and bench sync them.

There are threads in this site you can search out related to this topic, spelling WILL have an impact on search results.

Rig up a small (1 gal or less) tank (also known as an "I.V. bag") and hang from your rafters. Make sure you have an on/off valve in-line. Also make sure your remote tank cap is vented to atmosphere. Hang your IV bag higher than the carbs to ensure proper gravity feed. A clear plastic in-line filter helps keep crap out of the carbs and also gives positive visual confirmation that you do, indeed, have fuel flow.
You will need to remove the rubber bungs on the flex boot fittings for #1,3 and 4 cylinders. #2 should already be open (that's where the fuel petcock picks up it's vacuum signal).
