Ok i'm getting ready to paint my 82 seca 650. And I have no idea what color to have it done in. Right now it is sort of burgandy. I thought of black, but that might be to much black. Maybe a royal metallic blue? Then I thought of a bright red. Ahhhhh to freakin many choices, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated . If you have had urs painted a diff color than stock, if you would want to send some pics, that would be great also. My email is On1wheel01@aol.com Thanks

There's no such thing as "too much black." :)

I'm painting my '81 Seca 550 black. The only decision I have to make is - flat or gloss.

    Some colors to check out:

Early 2000's BMW M5 Series Deep Purple: "TechnoViolet"
(Peek at the 900 in My Gallery -- that's it.)

Classic Very Limited Edition GM Dark Purple Metallic ... appeared on late 60's 'Vette, later Camaro and GTO. Sexiest Color that ever rolled-out of Detroit in this "Child of the 50's" and eyewitness to "The Golden Days of Rock-'n-Roll" ... Just the name GM gave this finish sends chills up my spine:

    "Royal Plum Mist"

Mix it up with some graphics or some pinstripes.

I also love the stock Silver with the blue... Or the deep red (as was on mine originally).
I probably would have left mine the dark metallic red color - except when I tried to get it color matched it sprayed out pink... SO I said screw this she's goin black.

If you look around you'll be able to find some pics of plain black secas... problem is they do look pretty plain. Even mine with all the decals and stripeing can look a little plain from the side - moreso when I'm sitting on it and my elbows are covering up the tank badges.

I plan on solving this by painting the motor (and possibly frame) silver - but pinstriping would also work to break it up.

Ramble Ramble - Paint it whatever color you picture in your head. It'll look great.

Black is always good. That's what color I painted mine (but it was black originally though) and I like it. Like others said they are sometimes a little plain just one color -- I ended up putting some flames on mine.

Also, what I did was I through the pic gallery of motorcycles here and seen which colors I liked the best and went from there.

    Good luck!!
