Hopefully this is in the right place....

Got my old boy back up and running, fresh oil, fresh fuel and new spark plugs, anyways, when riding the gears are smooth and I have no problems, I'm having an issue putting him in neutral when I'm at a stop. If I turn the ignition off I have no problem putting him in neutral, any ideas??

    TIA

    Clutch is dragging slightly.

Likely. Old clutch sitting for years half in oil and half out doesn't age well. However, you can try to adjust the clutch throwout so that it doesn't drag.

If the clutch slips when you do this, then you definitely need to replace it. Replacing sooner rather than later is prudent because allowing the clutch to slip creates heat and can warp the plain plates.

If you mean your shifting to neutral at stop lights/sign. That's a bad habit to get into. If you need to move quickly because of some dumb cager, you're screwed

KrS14: I never go into neutral at the lights, like you say I want to be able to get off my mark if I need too. It's when I get home and go to put it into neutral, it doesn't want too.

Going to have a look at the clutch cable tonight... had a few other suggestions on a NZ forum that I'm on so hopefully will get it sorted, if not next years winter project.....

    Thanks for the replies!
