Gang: I have created a windows 7 background theme that contains some of the test renderings from the XJ-3D project. The test renderings are used to review the color and texture mapping applied to the models. Some of the members that have been privately contributing to the XJ-3D project have encouraged me to make this windows 7 background theme available to the other members.

The renderings are only artistic test runs showing various parts and assemblies in random placements (will not help you fix your bike). The renderings are shifted to the right side of the frame so when used as a Windows 7 background there is room on the left side of the monitor for application icons.

The file is created by windows 7 and is called a “Theme Pack” I am not the programmer of the Theme Pack applet so if it doesn’t work or causes issues you will need to consult Microsoft. I am simply collecting the images and having Windows create the Theme Pack applet. The Theme Pack is for your use only, and should not be redistributed to others or installed public computers.

This background theme pack only works with windows 7 (not windows XP or older operating systems). You save the file to your desktop, then just double click to activate. You can then right click on a blank area of your desktop and select personalize. You should then have a new background theme on your list, also at the bottom under background you can change the speed the images change and how they fit your monitor.

As for the cost of the Theme Pack I am not setting an expected contribution amount. I am considering this one of those social experiment type things; if you like the images and wish to pay something for the Theme Pack any amount would be acceptable OR you can just Enjoy the renderings for free. The proceeds will be used to fund the XJ-3D project expenses like the Solidworks modeling software license maintenance etc.

Send me private message with a request for the file and I will send you a copy. File size is approx. 3.0MB and I would need to send it to you by e-mail.

I think I should put some input up here on the forums seeing as I have used the theme pack as described for Windows 7 and recently Windows 8 as well.

The theme packs ARE indeed safe to download. I'm not just saying this, it is TRUE. I have had no problems with them working and no problems have arisen from my usage of the theme packs.

Now for some comments on the theme pack images:

The image quality is AMAZING. Precise, crystal clear, and very realistic. I wish my bike's internal components looked half as good as those in the FlyGp3D theme pack sets.

If you are on the fence about trying the theme packs, go for it.

Some images in the theme packs:
-Instrument cluster: amazing detail, including speedo/tach needles, indicator bulb housings, casing and instruments. Beautifully done.

-Clutch: whole assembly looks amazing. Extremely accurate rendering, though as noted in FlyGp's post, you can't fix your bike off these images.

-Engine Jugs: Another beautiful rendition. Who would have thought he would have done the head gasket too?

There are many more images than described here, and as FlyGp has described, they are all right justified to allow room for desktop icons.

    OS Usage:

Windows 7: Theme pack works great. Cycles images frequently, always giving you some nice desktop bike porn to enjoy.

Windows 8: Theme pack works just as well as the Windows 7 Theme pack. Does not change the new start menu 'touch' interface. The Windows 7 theme pack also works on Windows 8.

Overall review: Beautifully done CAD images. Can't wait for the exploded views and they will be well worth paying for.

If I've been unclear or if you want more info from me as a theme pack user, please feel free to PM me. I am receiving no compensation or fringe benefits for my input here, just honest appraisal of the quality of work and functionality of something I personally think is an awesome project.

The themepack backgrounds are even better than what he posts on here for our enjoyment.

I guess you could say I am one of the beta testers. I've had this on my desktop for a few months now and have had no issues.

As always, fly's attention to detail is amazing.

Fly sent me these awhile ago to check out, didn't realize it was the same thing, just out to the masses now.

Agree 100% with tskaz.......have been looking at these for awhile now. The work is insanely perfect.

    Keep it up!
