LESSON learned

Bought some of that wonderful E10 :roll: last winter, on a nice winter day ride.

Didn’t ride much, then in early April took the header to be ceramic coated (turned out MUCH better than expected).
1 short ride then back in the corner.
Things got hectic (rotator cuff surgery...etc), didn’t ride all spring/summer/fall (we did ride the sob a few times).

Got the XJ out the other day AND…YEP :evil: carburetors.

Some yrs I ride a little, a few K miles and then some yrs I don’t ride much at ALL.

I’m going to start keeping STA-BIL in both tanks ALL THE TIME!

I really REALLY HATE rebuilding these carbS!

Learned my lesson as well, even draining the carbs is a bad idea... fuel stabilizer or nothing

I had chicken pox at 32, now I'm scared where that's a precursor to having shingles, right? Dude, carbs sound like child's play compared to the other stuff you've been dealing with, good luck with em!

 

The upside of living now, instead of in the past, is that there is a vaccine that prevents shingles. Go ask your doctor about it. BAsed on the people I know who have had the shingles it's more than worth looking in to. I tried to get it, but my insurance company said "no way" because I'm too young, even though I'm in a higher risk group for getting shingles because of other health issues. If I had the money to spare I'd pay out of pocket for the vaccine.

 

I never had chicken pox and that scares the hell out of me. My mom swears I'm immune, as I was exposed lots of times, but that doesn't keep me from running from the room if somebody has chicken pox.

 

yup, as you get older the severity of chicken pox gets greater. But the nice thing is this: just because you had chicken pox doesn't mean you WILL get shingles. It just means you have the capability to get it. I can name 4 people right now who had (one currently has) shingles. BUT...I can name 1000 people who HAVEN'T.

I know more people my age that haven’t had Shingles, but that # gets smaller every year.

Here are the really bad parts.

My brother in law had shingles, got the shot and has had them AGAIN. He called his DR. they said YEP the shot only lessens the severity.

We met a 40 yr. old lady the other day with shingles, she said gets them 4 or 5 times a yr and they wont give her (or anyone) the shot UNTIL she’s 50.


Note to k-moe: check with your DR and county, the shot is supposed to be about $250.00.
