XJ550RK decals

    As far as I can surmise, this decal kit doesn't exist.

    My question is - is the shape of the 81 - 82 the same as 83?

    I'm thinking that with a good scan and some photoshop, alter the colors so I can get the correct decal kit for my haggard 83.

    Shape? ONLY "sort of."

    They'd be closer to the '81s package than the '83; but the '83 stripes are still a bit narrower. They both follow the same curve around the knee "dents."

    I've been working with a decal guy (name witheld to protect the bum) who did some sidecover stripes for me; but he CANNOT seem to get the maroon color close enough for me to be willing to sacrifice my original tank decals just to refurbish the black paint. It's been going on for over a year, and everytime he adjusts the maroon it gets worse.

    Stay tuned. I really want a set of graphics for the '83 scheme myself.

    Hmm!

    I have access to some PMS color matching swatches, and other paint chip catalogs - maybe I can match my colors too?

    I have all the patience in the world - until spring time rolls around! :lol:
