    Lowbot,

Hello there. Lowbot as a rule of thumb...whenever you list something for sale such as a car or motorcycle the last thing a person want to do is call it by the wrong name. It raises suspicion as to whether or not that person knows what he/she is selling and whether it's actually his or hers to sell. This seller very well may be on the up, probably is, but when a buyer shows up with questions about the bike they will be looking for opportunities to lower the price(normal business practices). Hopefully he/she will refer to it by its proper name. Not trying to be an a@s. Just sayin'.

Agree on all counts, obviously. That's the reason I posted it...thought it was kinda funny that he listed it with the wrong name, poor guy.

Except I have seen waaaaay too many ads for Maxims that have been called: Maxium, Maximum Maxxam,Maxxum, Maxima, etc.......

Now, you'd think people would be able to list their parts correctly but the sad fact is that a lot of people are really actually clueless about their bikes. Some even get the Honda MAGNA mixed up with ours simply because they don't know, don't care, don't learn, and don't take the time to even find out.

True, there are those that will change a name and try to be a scheisster, but I haven't come across many of them............

Personally, I have pretty much given up on trying to educate the sellers. Why? They are trying to get rid of the bike or part, not learn more about it. So...I won't waste their time, I'll use the ignorance to my advantage--I'll continue to search for mis-spelled and mis-named bikes, maintain my leads, and let the people who are looking for the 'correct' names to miss out on what I find. Better odds for me:)

Looks like someone may be onto a nice find there.......I'm not going after it--too far away for me:)

The 900 is nice and appears fairly priced. I have been looking for that very model, too bad it's over the Rocky Mnts and a long long ways away.

The two Maxim's are both overpriced. He claims that $1200 is less than half market value!! I don't know what market that would be--that bike in excellent condition (which that one is not) is only booked at $1650. If it was a total restore it might be worth $2200.
