Not sure if all the non-turbo XJ650's use the same one, but I need one for my 82 XJ650RJ.

Wow, that's the 3rd 650rj that's shown up recently! I believe pretty much the whole exaust system for the 650rj is unique. Some parts will work, but aren't OEM correct. The mufflers are even worse to get.......

Hey, since you're near Albany, you should be planning to come to the Central New York Carb Clinic in June. I haven't set a date YET but will be making plans for CNYCC#6 shortly. PM me if you're interested. I'm only about 1.5 hrs. west of you..........

Huh, I'll have to think about that. I'm in the middle of servicing my carbs for the first time right now. What should I expect at one of this shindigs?

    What should you expect?

    1. a lot of other xj owners
    2. a lot of bikes
    3. everyone from experienced xj repair to rank beginner
    4. lots of new friendship
    5. lots of bikes to work on
    6. lots of food
    7. lots of work getting accomplished
    8. lots of brainstorming
    9. no drunken brawls, orgies, fights, or anything like that...
    10. a nice ride through the country on our freshly tuned XJ's.

If you have tools to bring, or a special topic, or a special skill on the xj's, or just a burning desire to learn how to repair something, bring it.

We cover averything from vavle shim, carb teardown, fork seals, etc.... to things as easy as how to remove the seat, how to remove the rear wheel, how to adjust the brake pedal, etc.....

There is no distinction between "these are deep questions", and "that's too simple to address here"

Carb clinics are actually a "whatever you need to do, or learn about as long as we can get it buttoned back up in the same day and be able to ride it home--Clinic".

Hope that gives a better insight.... if you want even more info, pm me and I'll give you my phone number, we can talk in person.

That sounds really cool. I'll keep it in mind as we head into summer. It would be happening right before my first long trip on the XJ so I may have some few remaining bugs to try tackling.
