This is a pic from another forum member.
I LOVE this exhaust system and would like to know if it still exists.

And if it does, where to get it.

Intention would be to find out a way to adapt it to the 750 Seca.

    Almost for sure not.

It MIGHT work on a 550 Seca, since they were essentially the same bike. If you could hope to find one.

Everything you'd find today for a 400 would be for the later XJR400, not the original XJ400D. 1977 was a long time ago; and the XJ400 wasn't marketed outside Japan until a few years later (after the exhaust changed.)

Sure is sexy though. By the way, there are a pair of pipes just like that on the other side. It's a 4-1-4 system, there's a collector box under the motor.

I'll see if I can find another pic.

I've bought parts through them before. Plan on a long wait. They ship by air, but don't always have what you want in stock. Shipping fees aren't out of line at all, but you do pay the unavoidable premium for buying direct from Japan. Also, they don't collect tariffs, so you might end up getting a bill from customs later on. I've been lucky in that regard so far.

You guys are missing the point.

The exhaust system in question is the ORIGINAL CONFIGURATION stock exhaust as appeared on the very first XJ.

It was almost immediately changed into the configuration we're familiar with, identical in appearance to the 550 Seca's system, with 2 mufflers, one per side.

Yes, you can find aftermarket systems for the original-line XJ400-4, but finding an original system will take some real doing, if even possible, and it won't fit a 750 Seca.

You'd probably have better luck tracking down a whole bike; and would likely need to go to Japan to do it.
