I'm trying to get the rotor off of the crankshaft for a member who needs one. I'm not sure of the bolt size that screws into the rotor to pop it off of the shaft. It looks like the thread pitch size is 1.50 mm. Anyone know for sure what size bolt I need?

    Thanks

No other bolts on the bike that could be a guide to the size I guess?

Lower 48 in general. Otherwise Central Mitten.
Under the torque specs in the service manual it calls the bolt as an M10 for the ACG rotor. For the bolt to remove the rotor. I would suspect that it would be at least an M15.

Try using an axle shaft to see it it matches the thread. I know that Honda had the practice of using the same thread for the axle shaft, and generator rotor.

Went to the hardware store and picked up a 14 mm bolt with 1.50 mm threads. Just like i was trying to avoid , the bolt is too small. The bins at the hardware store only went up to 14mm in the fine thread pitch. Looks like the next size bigger is a 16mm but they did not have any in fine thread. I'm not sure where I'll have to go to get that size in see if it works. What a pain

I ordered mine from McMasterCarr but I don't remember the size and can't find the bolt. PM chacal , he probably has the right tool.
If I can find mine I'll let you know what size it is.

Well went to three different hardware stores and no luck. Pretty sure it's a 16mm with 1.50 pitch threads.

You should be looking at Auto Parts stores, not the hardware. Find a NAPA.

Once you get the correct Bolts, ... don't try to muscle the Rotor off.
    (ACE Hdwe. Hardened bolts).

    Take up all the slack.
Tighten the Center Bolt that contacts the Shaft.
Then, strike the end of the Tool's Center Bolt with a Hammer to dislodge the Rotor from the taper.

Tried O'Reilly's they didn't have anything that big in the fine pitch. The guy at NAPA told me to go to Graingers.
Someone must have the 16mm in 1.50 pitch , I can't believe that this is so hard to come up with.

The Hardware Section at a well-stocked TrueValue Hardware Store will have what you need.

Finally found a bolt at Do-It-Best hardware. Now the bolt is in and I tightened up and we can't hold the rotor by hand to pop it off of the shaft. Any thoughts on using an impact gun on it? I've never attempted to remove one of these and just being careful not to damage it in any way.
Guess if I didn't care I would just put a pipe wrench on it and muscle it off. I did try smacking the bolt head with a hammer when I got it tight and didn't make any difference.

You have to use a Pry Bar.
You muscle it 'till you can get any more on it.
Then, whack the Tightening Bolt a couple of hard shots.
Put some more muscle too it.
    Whack it again.
    Pretty soon it breaks free.
