For most, it's an easy choice. For some, it's not. By request, this file was created to help those riders whose choice isn't so clear to figure out what they do and do not need.

I know Chacal put up the correct link already, but I fixed the one in the original post.

I know this is an old thread and I downloaded the PDF....

one question that's not answered though is, HOW do I get the OLD sight "glass" out? It was crystalized and melted/sealed into the master cylinder. the metal piece with the vertical opening is spinning, but nothing else is moving, wiggling or moving.
In all seriousness, how do i get the pieces out to put a new one in? I've "gear grindered" it until the old glass is now in chunks on the floor and i'm looking at a hole with no parts wanting to come out.

    HELP!

(PM is fine if you don't want to make this thread longer)

Hi Smiley, you didn't say what model you have but I think all sight glass holes have a shoulder machined into them. Once you have your new glass, simply glue it in with some kind of adhesive. Chacal can tell you what type to use. I have the 750 Maxim and it had an o-ring for a seal and a clip held it in place.

The metal piece with the vertical opening can come out; simply grab it with a pair of needlenose and pull. It may or may not come out easily, but it should come out. Any remaining pieces of plastic should come out with it. I remember doing this with my 750, and I'll be doing it again with the 700.

That's in the file. Yes, he stocks it.
