this is my first shaft driven bike build, and i want it to convert it into a hardtail or rigid frame. does anywone have any advice or input on this. should i cut out the swing arm or leave that intact and weld on brackets running from the original frame to the old shock mounts. just wondering if anyones got some pointers :(

I personally have not done one but will be here shortly..you could put solid struts where shocks are are but id beef up the factory mounts, plus personally I'd think that would look funny. I plan on setting bike level (as holding it level) then weld in new tubing from axle area ( on swingarm) to where backbone and rear of frame ( where all comes together at rear of motor)....search threads under modifications, plenty of pics.

I seen a guy weld the swingarm in either side then. Cut off the tail end of the frame then build off of that. My concern is the angle if the drive shaft. But I think I'm gonna do it that way although I'm not to keen on weldjng the swingarm I think that's the best way to level it amd maintain the strength
