There are 2 TURBO tanks, tha vary by a gallon , and every 650 or 750 tank will bolt on the frame with no mods.

You should stick with a TURBO tank, as it has a vent.

    This puter su!!

I think the vents not up to much and it needs the fuel cap working properly to vent.. do you know if the pet lock will fit these too?

The petcocks are different than the regular 650/750 unit

My TURBO didn't come with a fuel pump or regulator, but the tank has a fitting near the fuel neck for another hose, as well as a cap vent, which is why a "regular" tank might not work out well.

I have spare TURBO petcocks as well for sale !!

There aren't any extra fittings on the Turbo tank for vent lines. The gas cap vents similar to other twist of XJs; however, there is a little rubber catch tub over the cap so any fuel spillage, or condensed fuel vapor will collect and run out a drain hose. This is only needed since the tank is under plastic, and fuel spillage can't wipe off.

The petcock is very different, as it has a return port that gravity fed fuel cocks do not. Also, the fuel sending unit is mounted on top, so I think you'd need one for the tank you'd be getting.

I'm assuming you want to get rid of all of the plastic too? Cause those other tanks won't fit underneath. Why are you looking for a new tank?

im thinking of changing the look and weight of the bike, i will keep all the original parts to change it back if i want to, but i want to see what i can do.. thats if i can get hold of a xj750 tank here in the UK for a reasonable price.

I will reuse the original pet lock... cheers though for the offer
