Since all the mods, I don't have a choke control on the handlebars anymore.

Anyone else relocated a choke control on a xj750? Pics? Thoughts? Ideas?

    Thanks in advance.

Interesting. Thank you. It gives a great idea, I'll mount one like it to the frame right under the tank (on the smaller tube) and use a really short cable, I don't really have the room on my handlebars. I have 1" drag bars with HD controls. This way it could be easy to access but hidden. Thanks again.

I don't use a cable, I just hold up the choke rod linkage by hand on the right hand side for the 10-20 seconds I need it in winter.

Boy that choke lever looks familiar...

Standard fare on British bikes from the '50s through the '70s.

Looks like it function ally is similar to the thumb shifter from my early '80 MTB. I wonder if those would work for choke control? Might take some drilling to get the cable end to fit right, but they have a fair amount of pull (maybe 30mm). If they would work, they'd be a nice option - quite compact, easily bar mounted, high quality aluminum construction. Shame that modern thumb shifters all suck.

Vintage down tube clamp on shifters could also be cool, especially if going for a frame mount. Much easier to find (and cheaper, and in more styles) than thumb shifters. Also very easy pull apart and modify. If you want to get fancy, you could even do a braze on for the mount, instead of a clamp. Hmm....
