I just bought a doner 82 xj650, All wiring was pretty messed up. It is a bobber project. After hours of wiring this thing for head lights and tail, I got it to work....yea.... when i turn key to on position everything lights up, off nothing... good.

Well now i am back to work on it today and same as before, but if i start the engine all lights go out.... turn off engine back on????

    Any suggestions?

Without knowing the changes made in the wiring harness it would be nearly impossible to diagnose the problem. But it sounds like you have a relay wired incorrectly.

    Not hard.

Have a look; read carefully. The 650s clutch is simpler than the ones specifically covered in the article; you won't have any tabbed plates or clutch boss spring to worry about: http://xjbikes.com/Forums/viewtopic/t=29541.html

Otherwise the construction, and procedure are the same.
