    I'm curious about how much you guys think this should cost to ship. A USPS Large Flat Rate box (which is probably what would be required to ship this) cost $16.85.

    Because unless you're shipping something ungawdly heavy, flat rate is a RIPOFF.

    Aside from the flat rate bubble envelopes where you can STUFF with things to the max, you're usually MUCH better off modifying a box to fit, using light packaging materials, and shipping it based on weight.
